Dear Members, Friends and Colleagues, Artists and Creatives:
Please, take a metaphorical seat on the edge of the proscenium and look out at all those empty seats. We’re taking a deep dive into how the pandemic has decimated the arts.
This is where we breathe together, taking a moment to think about our mental health as well. The psychological effects of what we've been through--and who we've lost--is devastating. We've never seen anything like this. Busted budgets, lost revenue, diminished audiences, darkened theatres, canceled performances and tours, empty streets. All of our unions and organizations are suffering financially as well, and so we have asked less of them financially as we restructure and find a way forward. We are all affected. Our lives have changed. We don't even know what the future will be like.
One thing we do know is we are climbing out. We are coming back. We are waking up.

Join our team of VOLUNTEERS! VOLUNTEER your skills and special talents with the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition. We are seeking all types of skills -- graphic design, computer technology, financial, fundraising, social media -- or you name it, whatever makes you special, and all helping hands. We're always looking for volunteers to assist at our events. Earn free admission to the event that you volunteer and help out with; it's also an opportunity to interact with experienced and supportive women in your creative discipline, and you can keep those skills polished with an organization that embraces excellence and collaboration of women artists.
