WHAT DO WE DO?
The Women in the Arts & Media Coalition combines our member organizations' abilities and strengths, focusing on issues of concern to women in the arts and media. We are committed to being the link between our member organizations as we collaborate to empower women in our industry through advocacy, mentoring, networking, and events.
Updates to our resources and opportunities have been made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

The Women in the Arts and Media Coalition is a centralized resource for professional women in the performing arts and media industries.
Access to the Creative Community
Through its member organizations, the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition represents more than 80,000 women and men in the arts and media.
Networking
The Women in the Arts & Media Coalition's combined membership is probably larger and more diverse than that of any other alliance of women in the arts and/or media. As a resource for professional development and social exchange, the Coalition is without equal.
Information Sharing
Women in the Arts & Media Coalition-sponsored events, presentations, and networking provide unique forums for the presentation of issues and ideas relating to women's voices and visions in the performing arts and media, including our two Signature Events, the Collaboration Award and VintAge. Through cross-organization meet-and-greets, we introduce the members of our organizations to each other, sharing each other's short and long-term goals, and networking across disciplines. Through our #StageOpps and #ScreenOpps newsletters, we provide submission opportunities for all disciplines in Theatre and in Film/Video monthly, and through our Women in the Arts and Media Coalition Communal Calendar and Blog, we inform members of events of interest across the country about women, arts, and/or media, many with member discounts or available streamed online.
Mentoring
The Women in the Arts & Media Coalition provides a link for arts and media professionals to their colleagues across the United States and abroad, including those in colleges and universities. Through outreach to women entering the arts and media and through peer networking, the Coalition serves both its constituency and the entire arts and media community. Our website is a critical resource for outreach, networking, and awareness.
